Rian ,Rain Go Away !

I don't mind the rain at all when I'm tucked all snug by the fire .And I don't have anywhere I have to go until tonight so I can watch it fall quite contentedly .But ,for my friend who just buried her father yesterday ,I would hope for a little sun to come and warm her heart .I've heard it said that it's a good thing to have the rain fall at the cemetary .Something about the raindrops being our tears washing away and our being able to wish our departed loved ones Godspeed to their Heavenly Home. That sounds nice to me and quite comforting actually but too much rain does not make it as easy to see beyond the grey and gloomy sky into the brilliance of eternity. My friend has a wonderful spirit and and her faith is unmeasurable or unstoppable .She was so at peace with her father being granted release from all his pain and tiredness . She had said everything in her heart that she desired to speak while he could hear and acknowledge and in the end all was well with her soul.He left his earthly home knowing he was deeply loved and appreciated. How beautiful is that !   Isn't that what we long for ? To be assured down deep in our soul that we have loved and been loved .Oh that love would permeate the world of pettiness, childishness, selfishness, ego, pompous pride, intolerance, and wanting everyone else to think,act and believe as we do. So,so sad ! And what terrible things take place in the name of thinking we are the ones who are RIGHT.
We are all equal in God's eyes and the sooner we really are able to grasp that the sooner we will be able to do as Jesus would have us do as His heart,hands and feet. 

LONG TIME NO BLOG

Halloween and getting back to curling has had me all tied up .  What a great weekend it was , so varied ,so many laughs and even lots of aches and pains from squatting and sliding in the hack .
My Halloween Party was a hit and the jammin was great. What an array of costumes. But my night to relax took place at the Chatterbox Cafe with awesome live music and wonderful company around me. Sunday was indeed a Sabbath rest as I never left the cottage other than to bid farewell to the neighbors from Dartmouth who were packed up for the season. 

Got poked with the flu shot this am and the arm is beginning to stiffen up a bit. So there was no zumba tonight.  Just as well as it's cold and I just want to be by the fire.

I now have my books sitting here on the diningroom table and it seems a bit surreal . Oreo and I celebrated picking them up from the Journal Office by going and getting a coffee and pumpkin spice donut at Tim's. I didn't quite know what to do with myself when I held a copy of the book in my hand. Seemed like there should  have been  balloons and cheering !  But I quickly put things in perspective ,sipped my coffee and headed home. And besides it's just a little book ,more like a booklet .Don't think I'll really feel like an author till I have something thicker ,maybe with chapters .  But it's pretty darn exciting!
