Talk About Frost on the Pumpkin !

What a nippy morning !   I've been out gathering wood from the shed  and also putting up a tree out on the lanai and my fingers and toes are frozen .Almost too numb to type. Still in my jammies so needless to say I wasn't dressed very warmly for doing outside chores. But the woodbox is full and the tree and lights look great .I can hardly wait to see what  the tree will look tonight as it gets dark.  I just love lights !   It's so cozy here in my cottage nest that I have a hard time forcing myself to leave the beach , And it feels so good to be able to say that. Put a cup of tea in my hand and plunk me by the fire with Oreo and CoCo cuddled in beside me and it's blessed peace.

Every day I manage to cross a few things off my list and all is coming along great for Christmas . With my dear friend Melody just losing her sweet husband Mike who had to be one of the dearest ,kindest ,caring man in the world  ,the fussing about gets put in perspective .The love Mike had for Mel and her for him defines Christmas for me. What I witnessed as I sat with them in the hospital  was the love of Christmas ,something I will forever hold in my heart.   The Muse

December Gales

Holy Smokes! What's with all these gales that are just popping up out of nowhere and are sending everything hell ,west and crooked?  I have a shutter  blown off from the lanai, one of my outdoor wreaths is   missing and I haven't slept since 3am as Oreo and CoCo don't like the windy howls and will not settle .At some points throughout the night I think the gales were some of the strongest I've ever witnessed here at the cottage. I'm very surprised that the power is still on as it had gone off for a second at least five or six times. Think I'll stay home until this evening for chorale practise as I don't much like travelling in big winds anymore in my more seasoned age. Many tree limbs I see scattered . Everyone hold on tight!   The Muse
