Spontaneous Dipping
Who would have thunk it ? One minute Oreo and I were strolling the roadside gathering refundables and the next we were back at the beach and a quick decision was made to get in the water for a dip since it was such a gorgeous day . The basket of wash to be hung on the line as well as the bag of groceries to be put away were dropped on the back deck as I scurried into the cottage to don a swimsuit and head down the bank to the water before I lost my nerve. There was no fiddling around . Just straight in and out deep enough to get a good duck .And surprisingly the water was not as numbing as I expected. I've been in before when the pains would shoot up my legs but not today and this was around suppertime. And Eleanor and Barb not to be outdone by moi soon clamored down the bank also and hit the waves. I went in twice and it felt so great to be back in the salt sea. I never even used my towel as the air was so warm on the walk back to the cottage. Oreo was having a fit not being allowed down over the rocks to join me . I'm so glad I went with my urge to get in for one last dip but who knows there may still be another dip left in me . It's amazing how at our seasoned ages we can still bow to peer pressure as Eleanor had no intention of going in until she saw me go for the big splash and then off the clothes flew and before I could say "Chicken " she was in. I did notice however that she had herself pretty bundled up leaving the beach in Sheila's convertible with the top down while I was still wandering round in my bathing suit ,hanging out the wash amd making tea. It seemed strange that at 4 o'clock I was in the water and at 6 I was on the ice at the curling rink! Just gotta love it for the end of October . The Muse

Oh darn, I wish you had of called me, I would have joined you too. I couldn't stay in the house and the thought of swimming crossed my mind several times. It was a wonderful gift from God to have weather like that. So glad you were able to go for a swim.
